Raja Petra Kamarudin has been hauled up once again by the authorities for the write-up entitled "Let’s send the Altantuya murderers to hell" in the No Holds Barred column of Malaysia Today, wherein he demanded transparency in the case mentioned.
The previous episode was when a police report was made by MMT (who incidently, has also joined the Umno Baru blogging bandwagon), alleging that RPK had "insulted the YDPA and Islam".
There is a campaign underway for funds (more like a solidarity campaign), requesting a donation of RM1.00 only, per person.
This is a campaign by the people in support of Justice, freedom of information, thought, conviction and speech.
The following is the article from Din Merican's blog:-
Save Raja Petra Campaign
Dear Friends, Associates and Fellow Bloggers,
At this time (9.30 am) as I write this, Raja Petra Kamarudin is being charged with sedition in the Magistrate Court in Jalan Duta, Kuala Lumpur. It is in connection with his article on www.malaysia-today.net entitled “Let’s send the Altantuya murderers to Hell”.
Funds in this account will be managed in an open and transparent manner.
You will no doubt know that defending oneself against a Government which is bent on repressing all forms of dissent is an expensive proposition, especially for RPK who is a retiree. Our present government is using all resources at its disposal —our tax dollars in fact—to prosecute one of its own citizens.
RPK is social activist who stands up for the rule of law and our fundamental rights under the constitution.
We must stand for transparency, civic duty and justice for RPK.—Din Merican
why is it that RPK writes something about najib n he was charged? Because if you see the articles in malaysia-today there are dozens more touching on abdullah for example, but he tak kena also?
ReplyDeletehmm... fishy fishy.... smells really fishy.

ReplyDeleteHe wrote about allegations against the IGP, the PDRM, and the AG. No sedition charge.
He wrote about Khairy in the Chronicles. No sedition charge.
He wrote about Badawi's many alleged scandals. No sedition charge.
He wrote about SCOMI and Kamaluddin. No sedition charge.
He writes a tame article about Najib and Rosmah, that too backed by information revealed in sworn court testimony, and the sedition act is thrown at him.
That should instruct you as to who is the heart of darkness and a harbinger of the return to the dark ages of Mahathirism.
It is patently obvious that Badawi and cohorts, despite their faults and weaknesses, have a progressive open streak that places them relatively light years ahead of the Dark Lords of Mahathirism.
As Hishamuddin Rais' earlier article states "Najib Pembawa Zaman Gelap".
Dear Daniel & Anonymous 07/05/08 00:14,
ReplyDelete(or was it FFT)
I believe both of you (and Sham Rais) have highlighted something quite significant here!!
That's a thought that's really worth thinking about (not that I haven't).
However, I find it quite ironic that having such power at "his/her" disposal, he/she has inbeciles for political strategists/ advisors.
He has swallowed the bait that RPK had set up, lock, stock & barrel!
RPK is now a bigger hero, thanks to "siapa makan cili"!
RPK has now single handedly brought worldwide attention on the Mongolian murder case, only rejuvenate the memory of the audience that was on a downward trend.
Hidup RPK - Suara Rakyat!
Hidup Ketuanan Rakyat!
Makkal Sakthi!
p.s.
Now, in getting defensive, somebody is giving a new spin to the "alleged commisions" that were dished out in the deals for Scorpenes & Sukhois - as per todays Sun.
