Death of Democracy : Umno(Baru) Transition Recycled ....

"To all appearances, we are beginning to lose grip of the rule of law.
The use of the Internal Security Act and of Sedition Laws to target
particular individuals further erodes the credibility of the
government.
Our actions exacerbate rather than calm the fear that

stokes civil and racial strife.
"
-Statement from KuLi, of Umno (23.09.08)

Be careful the environment you choose for it will shape you;
be careful the friends you choose for you will become like them.

******************************

At a time when the world is reeling from the financial crisis that's hitting the world markets, local warlords are fighting over the shrunken political/financial pie that they cannot seem to live without.
Politics seems to be all that our leadership seems to care about.

It is a very unsettling development that we see today- when one mild mannered and incompetent CEO, decides to effectively leave the management of state to another although retaining the post.
It is left to the workings of one who has no track record of leadership to his name (beyond the aristocratic bloodline, some "explosive issues" and the reported "Chineseblood-lust" when he declared that "May 13 has begun" ).
An unblushing full page spread of him in one of the MSM dailies, posing with piles of books so as to "look intellectual", comes to mind.
(Reminds me of the story of a politician who went to a bookstore, to buy "25 feet of books" to fill his bookshelf, with which he wanted to pose, for a photograph!).
The choreographed video of him (in his welcome address) on his blog, with his fake accent and amateurish gestures, is at best, laughable.
This is the glorious future of Umno/Malaysian leadership, (which as Anwar expects,) will wield the tongkat/baton with greater ferocity- with the help of a fascist (cum racist) 'godfather'. The "godfather" though, today makes a pretense of distancing himself from this "economist", by calling him names like 'coward' - which incidentally could very well be true.

The baton/tongkat will, in true-blue Umno "tradition", be passed on to this new "emperor designate". The new emperor will meanwhile pass the word through the "grapevine" (or the "little bird"), on his desired accomplice for the deputy,
- and the voices of Umno democracy ends there.
Just as everything else in the Malaysian "system", Umno Democracy is about the little man conforming to the desires of warlord politicians/ leaders, and not vice versa.
Anything else on show, will only be for media hype.

This new "naked emperor" will definitely need the tongkat (maybe a "fig-leaf" too) which will be wielded on behalf of the "old guard". Without the ability to bully the parliament with the two-thirds majority (and the ever present Mongolian ghost), he'll need all the tongkats available to prop himself up - and they'll have to come even from the scum of the earth.
In other words, he'll simply be the pretender on the throne - should he really manage to get there - and the same old game of mega-projects and piracy will go on (unless checked by a change in Govt).
Bakri Musa's "The Limp Replacing the Lame" could very well prove to be prophetic ....

As usual, the anointed successor will disregard the democratic process and assume the mantle of leadership with absolute/dictatorial powers, in an organisation that's supposed to practice and protect democracy.
Accordingly, he'll be showered with nauseating accolades upon accolades from all the underlings hoping for handouts and fresh opportunities to rise through the hierarchy of corruption and decadence, which has become the trademark of a racist & fascist organisation.
Without a doubt, they (the MSM) will be peddle flattery for the simpletons to consume- that he is the best, the wisest, the most fit to rule, the best leader, the most beautiful lips, forehead, chin, and not to mention "family heirlooms" which they'd scramble to kiss and worship.
Anything less would be considered "biadap" or "uncultured". To these "Pak Turuts" who make up the vast majority of the dominant political party, it's called in Umno-speak, "Malay Democracy, Leadership and Culture".
Anything else is said to be - "isn't our culture".

"He's a natural successor, etc, etc ....", said a 'political analyst' from UUM.
Perhaps, rightfully so - as he has nothing to his record, to speak for his leadership skills. He has right from the start rode on political patronage and his family name. In fact, some reports even suggest that he had once resorted to "stealing" an election victory with "postal votes" - in his own "stronghold"!
Just as the outgoing CEO was condemned for his cluelessness, the "natural successor" was apparently equally clueless (according to a "little bird") during his days, about affairs in his education ministry years. This pink-lipped wannabe however got away thus far, due to the "godfathers" who gave him protection with their tongkats, wielded as batons to club competition & dissenters to death (at least politically, if not literally).
He will, more likely that than the current "leadership", hobble along with the "tongkat" along paths thrust upon him, by the real masters at work behind the scenes.

The much publicised pledges for reforms prior to the passing of the current regime is just that - pledges, and nothing more. With real reforms, taking into account the intellectual bankruptcy of the political elite, theBN/Umno political machinery will soon cease to exist.
It is imperative that no reforms take place, if Umno is to survive.
It has to perpetuate the current system, or die
!
Umno as we know it, cannot co-exist with the independent institutions of state - namely the Judiciary, Security Forces, Civil Service, Ruler's Conference. Numerous toothless commissions will probably be created as window dressing, which we have become so accustomed to.

Umno is incapable of reform - the 10 points P.Gunasegaran suggests in The Star today can only materialize in dreams, and thus, it would be more constructive for Guna to pick his nose (and The Star to stop charging readers for the ads), than advise Umno.
KuLi is there - attempting to lend some credibility to the Umno "pseudo-democracy". Being a political "has-been" and a lonely has been voice in the Umno wilderness, he today has the luxury of being realistic with his posturing, despite all his previous racist rhetoric.
With a mere 5 months to go, Anwar's scepticism on these Dollah pledges, is shared by all Malaysians of sound mind.

Those at the forefront of the campaign in the last elections had become the victims of the Umno aristocratic retribution.
Raja Petra and the Hindraf-5 have become the fall guys thus far.
Infantile attempts at making scapegoats of Teresa Kok and Ms. Tan for their own failures, (with bumbling arguments of "required protection", anti/unIslamic & what not)- and had backfired. Racial conflicts did not erupt despite concerted efforts of some parties.
To divert attention and sabotage the opposition, Anwar has hurdles piled upon him in the form of trumped-up charges. He could very well expect more "saifuls", danger to society/national security and conspiracy charges in the near future. There are others who could possibly "be on the watch-list" in an anticipated crackdown on civil liberties (a la "Ops Lalang II"), in the near future, under the 'new leadership".

As to who eventually runs the show amidst all the "wayang", it remains to be seen - as of now, 'the usual suspects' appear to be in competition, and one has already wished the other "good luck" ....
Rumour has it that one party wields a Mongolian dossier, while the other, is the master of sabotage & political subversion and has "pop appeal". Age/ time however doesn't isn't in favour of the old man - he may at best last another year, as the multiple bypass grafts to his heart have long passed their expiry dates. That he has survived this long, is in itself, one for the medical journals ....

An "Anwarista" I'm not - not by a long shot. However, it appears more than ever, that he is at present the only hope for any salvation from the "droppings" left behind by Mahathir.

This is what the crystal ball says for Malaysia- No Reforms.
Only the Mahathirist Umno (Baru) recycled.
And more than a "tongkat", Najib probably needs a "fig-leaf" ......

Ghosts in our Minds ....

oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
"f you do not agree with government policies, don't be a government employee. Resign."
- A. S. Cheek

"As supreme council members,
they should uphold the ethics...."
- MMT

"Ex-deputy president of SAPP and current Deputy Chief Minister of Sabah Raymond Tan, claimed on Saturday that he had been instrumental in preventing the arrest of party president Yong Teck Lee in June in relation to allegations of corruption."
- MSM reports.
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

We now have the right people to advise Malaysians on ethics
- one is AS Cheek and the other, MMT.
We then have a currently retained Deputy CM - Raymond Tan - confessing to the media of what could have been regarded as abuse of power or obstruction of justice/investigation. (He may have just signed his political death warrant, though).
With people like these to lead us, who needs educationists, ulamaks/priests/ philosophers or thinkers?

What we see is a bunch of incompetent and corrupt "leaders" who seek to grab at anything to protect their interests. Ethics is the furthest from their mind despite the diarrhoea of rhetoric.

But then again how different are we the rakyat from them?
Just take a look at the number of signitories to the petition appealing for the release of barbaric ISA - HERE.
A paltry 21,000 ......
That's coming from the MILLIONS of hits (per day, mind you ...) at Malaysia Today and Peoples Parliament.

We know of the many "reasons" Malaysians give for not signing - all these despite sucking up to Malaysia Today and reading it "for information only" - like it is a freakshow. Almost all the people I know are quite unanimous in their approval of RPKs gung ho style, bravery and expose.

Those who may have signed, do not presume to be "holier than thou" here - no, not for a minute. They simply express their disgust at the disease mentioned below, and have taken the first step to dispel it. After all, the standards and willingness to commit oneself is quite relative to the "circumstances" - emotions, family, job, finances, contracts, politics, faith, the "fear factor", etc etc etc.
To "us" guys who refuse to sign, remember these "reasons" the day your children are deprived of the "material luxuries" you now enjoy despite being deprived of the dignity that you silently crave for.
It won't be too long if we choose to infect/reinfect others with this same diseases we carry - Fear, Apathy, Selfishness.

However, I do not believe that they are entirely to blame for this phenomenon - they have been brought up to believe in these things by the likes of the people mentioned above. We have been brought up to live in fear of the politicians' retribution - more so under the doctrine/creed of "Mahathirism", wherein we willingly sell our souls, humanity and rights for material gains to varying degrees (as I've said before- me too, to a certain extent).

Even more intimidating is the inbridled power of the ISA, which can be used "as deemed necessary" by "leaders" - even if it is simply for the sake of silencing the truth, and spreading the idea of fear. In fact, so pervasive is its influence, that many actually believe in the necessity of ISA to "keep the peace" in a "multi-racial" society, which proudly portrays the benefits of racism and apartheid, described/spun in the media as "racialism" and the "NEP".

It is what many a businessman wants - just make the money, have a PR status in Australia/ US/ UK and what not. That's why TDM implied that those of chinese descent "don't mind 'racialism'", as long as the economy/ their bread & butter isn't disturbed. Actually, it isn't a "chinese" sentiment - it is a Malaysian sentiment that cuts across all ethnic communities, although it is more pronounced among certain sectors. There is a lack of will/ hope among Malaysians to achieve true nationhood.

In other words, we are supposed to just make money and 'mind our own business', don't speak of anything that might be deemed "unethical" or "ungrateful to the authorities" - or your dreams to migrate may be shot. What we breed is nothing but resentment towards a system that systematically convinces us that we deserve to be deprived of rights. We shouldn't discuss or speak of what we may perceive as "injustice", as they are "sensitive" -to do so would render you an enemy of the state, and a "trouble maker".
This is especially important if we are in the civil service which is to day subservient to the government, and not the supposedly the apolitical "in His Majesty's Service" - hence Mr. A.S. Cheek's call to resign, if you're deemed not agreeable with government policies through an impartial discussion/debate.

In other words, what we who support the idea of 'detention without trial' do, is to permit and encourage the propagation of ignorance, fear and distrust among the various communities, as a means of working with the system- thus leading to a fractured state which is far from the desired "nationhood" that is preached.

If this is what Malaysians want, so be it ......

Here's a message by a reader of Malaysia Today, which would describe things very well:-
written by batsman, September 23, 2008 10:07:33
Sorry to be wet blanket, but it is a fact of life that most big social movements or even revolutions consume their own leaders. Even Harun Idris was consumed by May 13. I believe RPK knows this very well. He fights because he wants to not 100% because of us. He fights behind bars as well as when he is free.
Of course, it is much better if he is free. But he is not. And he is not free to say what he thinks either, so commentators - no need to be "holier than thou".
RPK himself is clearly for the ISA to be abolished. He said as much in his article on the detained Hindraf leaders. Often followers tweak the beliefs of their leaders. Even the Prophet himself suffered this fate with countless "followers and faithful" tweaking his teachings. Generations of "tweaking" have created the mess we now have. The latest "tweaking" being Hadhari.
So ... no need to be "holier than thou". We love RPK. We want him out, but there is no need to be "holier than thou". I can't speak for RPK, but I find such "holier than thou" attitude quite nauseating.

written by batsman, September 23, 2008 11:19:13
Cruzeiro - who is the coward? The guy who refuses to sign or the guy who seeks to hide among millions of signatures and dumps shit on those who do not sign because there are too few signatures and he cannot hide so well?
RPK has his causes and he fights these causes. Those who dump shit on people who did not sign the petition have only one cause - to get people to sign the petition. For this they distort the values and teachings of the teacher and place themselves on a high pedastal. For this one single fight in the armoury of fights that we should have, these people are willing to forego good taste and good principles. Too big egos, I say.

To those who wish to sign - do so please. But do not dump shit on those who do not and adopt "holier than thou" attitudes.

.....................................

To 'batsman' and his ilk, I have only one thing to say - nobody dumped it on them.
It's just that they don't see that they are in it.

Addendum:

Since "batsman" was curious to know what people think of those who did not sign the petition are (and I didn't have the heart to say it), here's what the govt MSM -
the NST Editorial
calls them today -
"opportunistic malcontents and anonymous cowards
who constitute much of his constituency turn whistling elsewhere for their entertainment." - HERE.

"Batsman" and all you cheering/saddened guys who have a million reasons not to sign,
I hope you read this, and now know how you're regarded by the Govt
and know thyselves better before coming up with a "defense".....

Bolstering Credentials using 'Samaritans'.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

The division had recently issued a show-cause letter to the Herald, .... had breached its permit conditions.
Its editor, Father Lawrence Andrew, has denied the allegations ... ... urged the ministry to not make any assumption as they had yet to see the editorial in question. “The editorial is only asking people to pray for a just and fair by-election. Can't we Christians ask fellow Christians to pray? Is that against the law?” he asked when contacted yesterday.

"Guilt that is expressed in irreverence is unliveable,
Guilt smothered by pride is unjustifiable and,
Guilt smothered by fear is unbearable"

- Ravi Zacharias, "The Haunting Spectre of Guilt"
====================================

Waking up on time last Sunday for church, was definitely worthwhile - the Pastor's homily was quite interesting (putting it mildly).
He spoke of racism practiced by the Jews who looked down on the Samaritans (which is incidentally mentioned quite subtly in the bible on numerous occasions) - The Jews regarded the Samaritans as "impure" and a mongrel race, and would avoid and discriminate against them in all sectors of society, even if they worshiped the same God.

Taking that into consideration, it appears that our society don't seem to be any better from the Jews who lived 2000 yrs ago - that too, encouraged by some illustrious characters - past and present.

Recently, in defending himself, Mahathir (on CheDet.com) said, "Sensitivities of people differ...... But supposing we ignore their sensitivities and we talk loudly about them. They would not like it. They may reply in kind, perhaps more insultingly".
How very convenient for one to sit on the moral high-horse, speak of "sensitivities" and claim "innocence" when one's "education minister" is permitted call for "chinese blood", or feign ignorance when zealots scream profanities!
[The infamous Cik-gu Rusitah bt Abu Hassan, of the Indian schoolchildren abuse controversy-
According to the police reports, the female history teacher had allegedly called Indian students in a Form Four and a Form Five class `keling pariah', `Negro', `black monkeys' as well as other derogatory names.
The police reports also alleged that the teacher had said that
Indians were the `children of prostitutes' and the community's Youths `did not have testicles' on July 17 and 22, and had also purportedly beaten up some Indians students.

The teacher was "transfered".]

The silence of the "aggrieved party" who accuse others of "insensitivity" when "Samaritans" are called mongrels and discriminated against by the "defenders of race & religion", (just like the Jews of two millenia ago) speaks volumes in itself.

As such, had he been in church with me, Mahathir would've have certainly been disappointed when the Pastor said, "This 'Babi' will not Balik Cina....! ", to the applause of an amused congregation- instead of replying as expected, more insultingly.

What is displayed here by some "leaders" is nothing short of what we may consider - "the expulsion of guilt through irreverence, pride and fear"- wherein the wrongs are justified through lies and misinformation, to hide the very sins which they preach against - and nothing is held sacred anymore (not even God or Religion).
They often choose to be blind to their own (or that of their kind's) doings, but are quick to get defensive about their "senseless sensitivities", when their potential scapegoat indulges in intellectual discourse/debate, using reason.
But of course, you don't need reason (or an axe to grind) to condemn your scapegoat- only ignorant pride, intoxication, denial and moral bankrupcy.

Hamid Albar says, "If you start to interpret, everything can be broadened. It is a relative and subjective situation.
If you are to write on religion, then you are supposed to touch on matters pertaining to questions on rituals, adherence to God, followers and anything related to your divine mission....
But I think if you mix religion with politics, then you can create a lot of misunderstand
ings"
(sun2surf), in justifying the harassment that The Catholic Herald is subjected to ....
(Okay - So he's become an expert on "divine missions" now- that too, without even knowing what the controversy is all about!).

Separating Church from State is the mantra of modern democracies , and as usual, our politicians are quick to capitalize on 'the cliche' for cover, when it suits them best - but "beware the cliche", dear sir.....
It is one thing to separate Church and state, or prevent the "politicization" of religion. It is however quite another, to deny that religion encompasses politics or vice versa.

How does one separate Church and politics, when one needs to speak of ethics and morality, dear sir?
When one needs a "point of reference" so as to advise one's flock on morality and ethics/philosophy, does one not need the "divine" or "spiritual"?
Is "religion" not a "way of life" ("deen" as you may call it in Arabic), which encompasses everything in our daily life (including politics)?
How does the a vote for the corrupt not come under "spiritual/ social obligation" or "fardu kifayah" of "amal makruf, nahi mungkar"?
Pardon my ignorance, but where is it in the law/ constitution stated that it is an offence to advice one's own flock?
Or is it only permitted for Muslims in this country, to seek spiritual guidance, in making morally sound political choices?
Or is this freedom valid only when it is to be for political mileage, in giving tin-cans and titles as 'awards' for church leaders?
Why is it that you allow "other races", but not "other religions" in politics?

It is my conviction that, it's necessary for church leaders execute their moral duty in guiding their flock on matters of "spirituality", as opposed to the narrow "religiosity" which Hamid uses to define "divine missions".
He obviously ignorant of the difference between "religiosity" and "spirituality"!
To these wise guys who pretend to be experts on "divine missions", I have only one thing to say,
- "You speak as such, out of your spiritual emptiness & intellectual bankruptcy!
What you speak of is none other than the death of your conscience and the guilt within- as you lie to yourself and the people you represent, dear sir."

Allow me to quote what was written in Where is the Spirit of Merdeka?:
Having failed in its shortcut to an economic miracle, the advocates of the system (clamouring for issues and a new agenda to perpetuate their greed and envy) the now choose to preach intolerance, “arabisation”, and religiosity in the name of God, to further isolate, and “drug into a stupor” a beautiful people that was once open to change.
Even if we aren't too accurate in our assessment, much of what has passed off for Islamisation by the govt was nothing more than frothy God-talk, mindless, thoughtless, and in its exploitation of people, heartless.
The “one upmanship” practised by the various institutions that espouse religious chauvinism, is in fact a pathetic display of their failures and insecurities.

They need to feel that they are “winning” and wish to gloat about their “success” in being the defenders of their misplaced priorities, while hiding the enemies within, behind a cloak( turban or beard) of religiosity."

But of course - certain political circles badly need to built and bolster their "Religious Credentials" to perpetuate their hegemony, after wallowing in corruption for 25 years. What better way to appeal to the unthinking masses, than through being cheerleaders to the persecution of those considered "Samaritans" - like the biblical Jews of old.

Having failed in their attempt to polarize the people based on race, the new "divine mission" would most likely be to use religion as a flashpoint in the near future, so as to hoodwink their unthinking followers and arouse the unthinking passions.
It wouldn't be surprising should some of these "hadhari" politicians soon grow beards and don skullcaps or robes so as to project a new image of piety.
On the other hand, a new religious "splinter" political party may appear out of the blue, in order to bolster the "just" image of certain corrupt political parties.
Let's just wait and see .....

Promoting Political Ghettoes of Conceit.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

-Malaysiakini

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

It is interesting to note that PAS made a step in the right direction in attempting to create a political lobby group to look into the social/cultural interests of the Malay/Muslim community.
Some may view it as a "racist" agenda, on part of PAS politicians - but I believe that such a perception may not be too accurate.

It would possibly placate those whose political gurus have been stoking sectarian conflicts for the last 25 yrs, and assist them in dispelling their unfounded fears of being "dispossessed in their own land".
This would aid a great deal in helping the community to get out of the "ghetto/siege mindset" that is nurtured and promoted by racist politicians and "educationists". However, PAS would do well to inculcate universal ethical values into them, instead of focusing solely on the narrow "Islamist agenda" which happens to be both the strength and weakness at the same time.

Should this "united NGO" materialize with proper ethical values, Malaysia may just be able to move on to national politics, devoid of racist ideas/ideals. It is however quite possible that efforts towards this end may be sabotaged by "racist parties", who insist on following the beaten path of sectarian politics, so as to hold on to their fort despite their mediocrity, under the guise of "defending the race/religion".

It isn't surprising that the VC of UiTM had made the comments mentioned above, after having been in that one and only hallowed institution for all his life- after all, he apparently finished both his BA and MA within 3 yrs!! Moreover, all the theses and publications that he churned out were apparently UiTM-centric - so totally "impressive" indeed.

To pathetic academicians like Dr. Ibrahim, race takes precedence over all matters in "education" - students should be given the privilege of living in institutionalized educational ghettoes "to defend the race".
Apparently, it is how students should be instilled with "universal values", and then can go on to "succeed" in the cruel world out there, under the banner of "ketuanan melayu".

It's quite interesting to note his conviction that UiTM are much sought after in the private sector and internationally.
Call it what you may - but if that isn't conceit, I really don't know what the word means!!

"Poor" things - little Hadhari students and all....., we cannot expect better from "ghetto" inmates, I suppose.
Anyway, if racism fails to convince the people, we always have the option to make "Religion - The Politician's Playground", so as to reinforce the siege/ghetto mentality into the youngsters of today - and we don't have any shortage of political gurus on that front ....

When the "Means" is Priority over Outcome

****************************************

"Where is the life we have lost in the living?
Where is the wisdom we have lost in knowledge?

Where is the knowledge we have lost in information ?

The cycles of heaven in twenty centuries

bring us farther from God and nearer to dust."

- T.S. Elliot
==============================

Recently, there was a "mainstream" supported NGO protesting mob that caught the headlines, after having successfully subverted the rule of law.
In fact the mob almost appeared to be (unwittingly or was it by design?) assisted by those entrusted to protect/ uphold the rule of law, in "storming" the recent forum at the Bar Council.

It was quite obvious right from the start that certain "leaders" had chosen to misinform and misrepresent the objective of the forum, to their ardent fans .... and the Bar Council had unwittingly (or was it by design?) jumped headlong into a politically charged controversy.
Were members of the mob or the Bar simply proxies of "other forces"?
Probably God and some higher offices would be privy to such information ......

Without a doubt, the Bar Council had every right guaranteed under the Constitution, to hold the very necessary forum.
However, the timing and methods in used, would've had the pirates rub their hands in glee - knowing full well the "political opportunities" it gave rise to ....

The organisation of whole event was so totally ill-conceived, that it was doomed right from the start. It is quite a wonder that the erudite Bar Council President could not see, that without political clout/ patronage, the intelligentsia are nothing - for the mob don't see or listen to reason.
Malaysia Today had an article written by "Teh Tarik", which said that - "Bar Council is legally RIGHT but politically WRONG". That article pretty much summed up my sentiments about the whole "issue".

G.K. Chesterton once said, "What we need is a Leadership that is not only right where we are right, but right where we are wrong".
The picture above wherein the police silently observes an assertive mob, would however, definitely illustrate the malady that we are faced with as a "nation"....
Coupled with a report from MSM (Najib: Bar Council’s persistence caused extreme reaction) when politicians turn "mob justice" apologists and condemn the lawful party in the conflict - it speaks volumes about the credibility of the Bolehsian leaders.

Meanwhile, Rice & Bulbar Inc. are busy trying to convince the "bogeyman of the Muslim world" that we in Bolehsia practice "Rule of Law" under the guidance of Islam (at least when in politically beneficial to the pirates of the constitution, I guess). The fact that the Bar Council was "warned" by an unruly mob which is "subtly assisted" by the leaders, is I'm sure very convincing.
That the politicians support primitive responses to "perceived threats to Islam", is in itself a testimony to the "effectiveness" of the real people in power.
One would be hard pressed though, to seek out where in sacred literature, it is encouraged to make a mockery of human rights, the law and institutions of Justice ....

The "Neanderthal" response of "flight or fight", repeatedly becomes the the favoured option (over intelligent debate), under the under the current "Rule of Law", epitomised by the likes of Bung, KJ, Mr.Kris, Nazri and gang.
More and more, we see that when the leaders speak, it appears that their words lack any element of logic or common sense. Indecision, flip-flopping, racist statements, undermining of public order and justification of mob rule has today become the trend.
It almost appears that the leaders wish to push the nation into a state of chaos - slowly but surely, so as to justify "drastic action" in the near future.

[Before I go on, I'd like to say that when the sanctity of a theology is perverted through politicization, it is doomed to extinction
- it would then remain, only as a "Godless" shell of a religion devoid of spirituality, and serves only to shackle the minds of its deluded adherents/practitioners.
History will vouch for that indisputable fact
.]
Having failed to play up the "Race Factor" for the sake of political expediency, "Religion" is today the hotbed of political manouvering by pirates competing for pop appeal.
A confused electorate infused with sentiments of pride, rage, chauvinism and disillusionment, then applaud the mindless mob who have subverted the constitution, and have the audacity to "warn the Bar Council" while "enforcers" and politicians coolly look on.

As mentioned before, in the post-5.13 ideology, Morality, Reality, and the Conscience has no place in the "grand design" of our political masters - in fact, it would be detrimental to the deceitful agenda of the pirates who propagate a Godless "social contract" (and not the Federal Constitution), which benefits only themselves.

"Sensitivities & perception" - These are the most potent and effective tools that are exploited so as to cover their guilt of incompetence and corruption, and hold the state at ransom. These two potent tools a manipulated so as to rile up the emotionally vulnerable electorate and so, subvert the constitution and rule of law that they love to preach.
With these, they can easily cover up their guilt of plunder under the guise of "national security" - and that's ultimately, the bottom line.

Guilt Concealed By Fear was the title of a post last year, in which the speaker (Ravi Zacharias) said,
"Guilt that is concealed seldom stops with the one who harbors that hurt.
Sooner or later that pain of fear and guilt is spread to others, particularly to those closest to us.
“Victimless” crimes are an illusion, for deceit is a monster that needs constant feeding.
It would be foolish for us to think that we can deal with guilt by somehow covering it up.
The moment that we cover our guilt we escalate the tension in our lives by adding the dimension of fear.
We may then become people who seem okay on the outside, but inside we are struggling to maintain the facade........

Carried to a different level, this same tendency underlies all our national preoccupation with one social or economic crisis after another.
No one seems willing to admit that at the heart of our malady is a mangled spirituality.
"

Contradictory signals are seen in the responses coming from the general Malay/Muslim electorate - on one hand they wish to rise to the occasion and create a "masyarakat madani", but on the other, they justify mob rule, and support the stifling of civilised debate on matters which are of national concern.
It is probably that they aren't quite as ready as previously thought by many, to come out of the "siege mentality" which has been drummed into them for 50 yrs - and embrace the "change" that they voted for on March 8.
Again & again they fall victim to the emotional manipulations of pirates who hold the nation at ransom.

Mahfuz did it. Now Hadi/ Nasha - APOLOGIZE!

"What we need is a Leadership that is not only right where we are right, but right where we are wrong".

"Lest the proponents of this "cooperation" forget, may I remind you - that the reason we oppose actions of a government isn't necessarily to vote it out, but to demand better governance."

Admitting his mistake for issuing the denial, Mahfuz said he had received complaints and criticisms for his "lie" from party members and Pakatan Rakyat supporters.
"Due to the action of certain individuals in the name of Pas and without the knowledge of the central working committee as they did not inform in detail to the party, Pas directed me to issue a denial of such meetings and negotiations," he said.

"Therefore, with sincerity, I would like to apologise for my unintentional mistake. I call on the Pas leadership to be honest with members and supporters, and to work towards strengthening the current political coalition (Pakatan).

=============================

Dear Mr. President,
Firstly, allow me to "applaud" you on your "ability to convince" the people that it wasn't "mu-zakar-ah", but "muqabalah" - whatever that means.
No need to get defensive - we know what that means ......

Although I generally distrust politicians who double up as "Godmen" most (especially the ones with lots of "conservative attires"), I thought that you deserved the benefit of doubt.
However, you have chosen to remove all doubts, and prove me right!

[What was the "pressure" that was imposed upon you by Umno? Did they "blackmail" you over something?
The charges of "ada pemimpn PAS yang dibunuh" and "`dirompak' royati minyak," are quite grevious and could warrant a police report - was one made?]

Mahfuz, in humility (or maybe just common sense), has come out openly to apologize .... for the "misinformation"
- mind you, it was for "following orders" so as to adhere to the chain of command.
Who issued the order?
Being the President and the "commander-in-chief", you are now in the line of fire - do the honourable thing and Apologize.

The following are some excerpts from some of my past entries, I now dedicate to you - and I begin (and end) with the words of Ravi Zacharias .....
===============================

"I wonder, if there were to be a portrait of my soul or your soul, how would it best be depicted?
Does not the conscience sting, when we think in these terms?
Though we have engineered many ways of avoiding physical consequences, how does one cleanse the soul?

Today we find a limitless capacity to raise the question of evil as we see it outside ourselves, but often hold an equal unwillingness to address the evil within us.
What do we do when we have committed a wrong that we are ashamed of?
What can we do with those wrongful deeds that we can’t seem to erase from our consciences?

One way that many people deal with guilt is to cover it up.

This can seem almost instinctive at times,
as if something inside us says, “Hide it. Forget about it. No one can know.”
But this puts us in a very precarious position, for not only are we dealing with guilt, but now we are dealing with the fear of being “found out.”

When we add fear to our feelings of guilt we are adding apprehension to the remorse we are struggling to conceal. Just as a blackmailer is never satisfied, so the one who lives in fear with guilt ends up blackmailing his or her own heart to pay the mind.
But the heart is never consoled, for the mind is never sufficiently paid.

Guilt that is concealed seldom stops with the one who harbors that hurt.

We may then become people who seem okay on the outside, but inside we are struggling to maintain the facade."

".............."race or religion" based politics - this has been the curse that has been handed down to us by those who refused to accept and thus betrayed the the ideals that Dato' Onn Jaafar, the Father of UMNO, stood for.
They instead killed every opportunity to build a nation based on "Values and Principles".

They preferred to play the race game that would be a short cut to power consolidated upon those politically "victorious", ie the Muslim Malay race.......
How I wish I could hear the music of politicians shouting out against the subtle persecutions against the all Malaysians be they Muslim, Christian, Hindu, Buddhists or Animists, be they of BN or the Opposition.
-A Curse in the Malaysians' Embrace.
........................................................................

"The spirit of Merdeka has been subverted by racists and the religious zealots over the years, and has been replaced by chauvinism – racial and religious..... Unfortunately, we are a society so paralyzed by symptomatic solutions one has to wonder whether we will learn anything from this mindless atrocity.......

The “one upmanship” practised by the various institutions that espouse religious chauvinism, is in fact a pathetic display of their failures and insecurities......
Malaysia today is a nation that has lost its conscience. "
"Where is the Spirit of Merdeka?"
......................................................................

These R&R factors have been and will be the overriding factors in determining the direction that the nation takes in the next few years.
These next few years (probably 10-15 yrs) will determine what the future holds for all Malaysians.
As things are, the politicians, clerics and the people appear to lack the courage to face the truth and abandon the old feudal, racist and religiosity that is today being used to subvert the nation.
The future does not look too appealing, any which way we look at it.
The day when all else is lost, let us pray that there will still be hope.
-
The Overbearing R&R Factor.
......................................................................

The “sandiwara” of “strife” will be created again as was done repeatedly by the powers that be, since independence from British rule.
-A Malay Mindset For a Better Malaysia.

"It will not do to cling to the cause and wish the result away.
Reality does not play mind games.
What is more, to anesthetize the mind in order to abort what comes to birth when wrong ideas are conceived and borne in the womb of culture, will only kill the very life-giving force of the nation that nurtures the idea.
We must learn, in the words of one cultural commenter, to live as wise as serpents and as innocent as doves."

Liar, Liar - "Kebinatangan" Hands afire!!!

"Go to Hell!",
"You tak suka, Keluar!",
"Racist", "wayar putuih", "Saya tak takut","I don't know",
"It's FITNAH, Slander, Dirty Politics, gutter politics!"
Don't believe the lies that bloggers or the media prints ..... "they're all liars, rumor-mongers, and slanderers"
These are just words expected of our good clean leaders - and all, strangely come from only one side of the divide!.
That's fine - so let's recap our "our clean political culture".......

But by far, this following clip was the most hilarious of all!

9 May 2007 - "Where's the leak? The Batu Gajah MP leaks every month too," Bung said referring to DAP representative of the constituency, Fong Po Kuan

That was the past ..... moving on to the present :-
However, Bung Mokhtar told TheSun outside the House that he did not make the gesture, described as the ‘palm hitting a clenched fist’.
- MalaysiaKini, Sleight of Hand in Parliament, Rahmah Ghazali | Jul 8, 08 7:05pm

Bung Mokhtar Radin (Kinabatangan-BN) today did a U-turn, admitting that he had made an obscene gesture in the Dewan Rakyat yesterday during a dispute with some Pakatan Rakyat MPs.Yes, I did it, but it (the gesture) is not what it means. Everybody has their own perception and it is not rude and it is not what people think it is,” he said when met in the Parliament lobby.
- Malaysia Kini, Kinabatangan MP: Yes, I did it but .....,Rahmah Ghazali | Jul 9, 08 1:46pm
MCPXes, I did it, but it (the gesture) is not what it means. Everybody has their own perception and it is not rude and it is not what people think it is,” he said when met in the Parliament lobby.

=======================

It's almost "deja vu" -Reminds me of Adnan Yakob's "sleight of hand" some time back (refer to image above).
Click HERE for the YouTube clip.

"Repent You Shameful man" screamed the headlines of Malaysiakini refering to Mr. Bung (pronounced not as in "bang", but "boong", okay) ..... but what do you do, when "some people" are Shame-less - and don't have these very human characteristic of shame?
Maybe they can go for boot-camps, wash plates and learn some etiquette & "leadership skills" - but hey, maybe that's where they learnt these things, under the one who bred them!
Anyways, in Malaysia, they become "leaders" - these guys all have become chief representatives of one group or other in the the ruling parties/ government!
(Mr. Bung is I believe the chairman of the BN BBC, right?)

They lie very openly and refuse to apologise, or even pretend that their behaviour "means something else" and that "it is not what people think it is"!!!
They seem to believe that they are somewhat 'misunderstood' when they do these things- but when the opposition do or say things thats hardly 'offensive" by any standards - and then suddenly .... it isn't our culture!!!

Have any of them been taken to task?
I doubt it - if anything, they were only rewarded with influential posts and more power. On the other hand, maybe they "hold others at ransom"!
Actually the denials upon denials and then the admission of "Kebinatangan" appears to be in line with the culture of "flipping & flopping", among quite a few prominent personalities of late. That's "in our culture", according to these cultural experts!
We all know who bred the "dogs", and who "let the dogs out" - and I'm quite certain Pak Lah is doing a good job at putting them on a leash, after taking over from the chief breeder himself.

p.s.
Just hope some "prominent 'opinion-leading' bloggers" don't call for a blog-strike in disgust! (whatever that means)
.
Their blogging on things may make these "leaders" smarter - forget about the general public (compared to these imbeciles, the public are really geniuses ....).
.
Though chances are slim for any success,
who knows- when you're "prominent personality" taken note of by the MSM & all, it may be worth an effort ;-)

Check out this hilarious clip:-
