BERSIH 2.0- The Voice of a Nation's Soul.

"Unfortunately, we are a society so paralyzed
by symptomatic solutions one has to wonder whether
we will learn anything from this mindless atrocity."
~Where is the Spirit of Merdeka?

"Lastly, but surely not the least, the
We-Have-Erection-Once-Every-5-Year
award goes to… jeng jeng jeng…
the IGP for saying that only 6000 people joined the rally.
I suggest the IGP changes his glasses and
call a new tender for calculators soon."

"It will not do to cling to the cause
and wish the result away.
Reality does not play mind games.

What is more, to anesthetize the mind

in order to abort what comes to birth
when wrong ideas are conceived
and borne in the womb of culture,

will only kill the very life-giving force
of the nation that nurtures the idea."

  1. Recently returned to KL and had neglected the local scene. Delighted to see this excellent posting in M-T:

    Adoi ... RPK.

I donno what has got you in a twist ....
Did they make a statement in the name of BERSIH 2.0?
I don't think so .... they spoke of BERSIH 3.0.

Face facts la ... BERSIH is an election reform platform which belongs to the people- and those people include the politicians.
    BERSIH doesn't belong to anybody-
    bukan Ambiga punya
    bukan hHaris Ibrahim Punya
    bukan Aliran punya
    bukan bapak Marina Mahathir punya
    Bukan RPK punya.

ANYONE can speak of BERSIH 3.0
And if Khairy Jamaludin with his band of nincompoops speak of it with noble ideals,
I'd support him on it too.

Please la RPK- stop getting petty!

Hope things go well at your end.

    Best regards,

  2. HELLO Chuah!!!

What a pleasant surprise- real good to hear from you again after so long ....

Ha ha- I don't comment much on MT these days .... after that one episode, which I believe you know.
Only when I think something needs to be said (that too, I keep it brief)- the scene isn't quite like those days, isn't it?

MT needs more people like you la boss - too many unthinking souls who just go along with RPKs rantings at times.
Although Pete writes well, I believe that occasionally he "throws a cat among the pigeons" for the sake of critical debate & food for thought.
But sadly many of these pigeons don't fly ...

Although much better than many other portals, there is a great shortage of pragmatic & critical minds to give fuel for debate like in the old days ...

You should get back in there la ...

  3. Hi Cruz: Go back there? As you said, you seldom write to M-T either, and if I were to wait for bloggers like you I might as well go straight to the source such as this website.

Regarding RPK, you know how we used to support nearly everything he did, attending vigils and his court cases and all that. I think, however, that he's no longer the same man (to put it mildly). Can't blame him much, though, seeing how the pigs victimized his son and persecuted him for exercising his rights as a citizen and indeed as a human being.

    Take care, buddy.

    =============================

I beg to differ, Chuah- I think he still is, although his methods and temperament is a little different today due to circumstances.
As far as I know, He has never wavered in his stand.

He wasn't the same man in the early days, remember- he used to fight for the "Islamic State" by PAS- but all that changed after the heated debates on MT and 308.

I think he knows that after his TV3 interview, many people have been hoodwinked into thinking that he has changed- despite not reading his SD or understanding his words in the interview. Which is why he often resurrects the issue to clarify his position vis-a-vis his SD.
His latest post also shows that.

Ah, "methods and temperament" really do make a different person, so I guess we must agree to disagree, Cruz. More important now might be to focus on the disgraceful detention of Dr Jeyakumar and other PSM members - let those in power know that this would also become an international issue (though I hate the idea of internationalizing local issues). Further, a bunch of chaps with Bersih T shirts were detained for hours at the Cameron Highlands. How about suggesting that everyone wear such T shirts every weekend - I'd like to see whether the pigs have the time and facilities to hold thousands of Malaysians every Saturday.
