MCCBCHST: Our family lives are no longer secure

4 December, 2010
By Lord Bobo

The recent sidestep decision of the Federal Court in Shamala’s case prompted the Malaysian Consultative Council of Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism and Taoism to express its despair over the inaction by the authorities in addressing these serious issues. The press statement issued by its current President it reproduced below from the MCCBCHST website Harmony Malaysia.

Unity_between_Cultures_Nations_by_mclaire89

Tan Cheow Hong. Indira Gandhi. Nedunchelian. Shamala. Genga Devi.

These 5 names should be seared in all our memories as symbols of the deep sense of insecurity Buddhists, Christians, Hindus, Sikhs and Taoist now feel in Malaysia.

All these 5 people have had their family lives totally disrupted when their children were converted to Islam without their knowledge or consent by a disgruntled spouse.

All 5 have had to battle the government servants who act as the Islamic religious authorities in Malaysia and with lawyers from the Attorney General’s Chambers who argue that they must go to the Syariah court (despite being non Muslim) in order to exercise their constitutional rights to raise their children in their own religion.

All 5 have had to battle with Judges within the civil court system who constantly abdicate their constitutional oath to protect and preserve the Federal Constitution, and their role in a democracy such as ours to protect the rights of minorities.

The recent decision of the Federal Court is just another example of this.

The MCCBCHST has since 2004 made numerous calls to numerous governments. We have presented memoranda, made press statements and written letters to the editor.

Together with other members of civil society, we have had candle light vigils and held roadshows. The police stopped the roadshows because of the violent actions of extremists from the other side who sought to prevent us from speaking.

We have had meetings with Prime Ministers, Cabinet Ministers, Parliamentarians, State Governments (from both sides of the political divide), politicians and civil servants.

The Cabinet boldly announced its decision on 21 April 2009 that the religion of a child under 18 years would continue to be the religion of that child at the time of his/her birth, and that children cannot be converted without the joint consent of both parents. But sadly to this date we have not seen the implementation of that decision.

We have read of calls by many Islamic scholars that children cannot be converted to Islam. The Director General of IKIM said in the Star of 12 June 2009 that “…. the call to Islam is a willing and conscious submission, hence it cannot be forced upon anybody including the conversion of a child or minor to Islam”. Despite this, we are inundated with cases of children – some as young as a 11 month old baby still being breastfed by her mother, and 3 to 6 years old children – being converted by one parent and then taken away from the other parent.

The decision of the judges of the Federal Court led by Chief Justice Tun Zaki Azmi to dismiss Shamala’s case on a mere technicality rather than determine the five constitutional questions she had raised is of much concern. If not the Federal Court who else should the non converting spouse turn to in order to protect and uphold their basic rights enshrined in the Federal Constitution.

The above events have led to most Malaysian losing their faith in government, the civil service and the Judiciary.

We will turn to Prayer and seek recourse through all lawful means to right these wrongs so glaringly being committed with impunity.

The MCCBCHST urges all its component members, and all Malaysians, to include in their prayers each week a prayer that

  • our lawmakers, civil servants and judges to recall and administer their duties in accordance with their oaths of office to defend the Constitution
  • that our fellow Malaysians – Tan Cheow Hong, Indira Gandhi, Nedunchelian, Shamala and Genga Devi – get to bring up their children and to educate their children in their own respective religions, and exercise their freedom of religion

"Hi, I'm a "tensed" Policeman- Can I whack you?"

"And when Karthik asked why he had assaulted him,....
the policeman told him that he was feeling “tensed”."
~Youth beaten black and blue by 'tensed' traffic cop

===================================

With the amount of bad press the police force is getting these days, how can anyone feel safe anymore?
The public perception of indiscipline in the force, is at an alltime high- despite all the reassurances by the Home Minister, who is put in a tight spot. His announcements of "improved performance" and "lower crime" sound more and more like the blatant "Ketuanan Melayu" & "Kontrek So-Sial" lies of churned out by Umno to the media, to whitewash that negative perception.

It appears more & more to the public, that the police force which is supposed to be a disciplined force, meant to serve the King and Country (aka the Rakyat).
After Glenmarie, Kugan, Aminulrasyid, Noodle-seller, etc etc etc - this "tensed" cop whacking an innocent bystander to "release tension", surely takes the cake!! By virtue of the royal patronage, if anything is an insult to the Institution of the Monarchy, this must be IT!!

Please don't get me wrong- I don't mean to belittle the cops.
I've seen some very good ones, and I know for a fact they do a lot to help maintain the security of the country. The cops (especially the ones on the street) are actually under extreme stress - having to go through operasi after operasi with little rest. Often times, "annual leave" or "EL" is not an option for them.
Even "MC" is sometimes deferred, considering the shortage of manpower- due to the epidemic of crime nationwide.

Despite their physical "fitness" (which can be questionable too, in view of the many pot-bellies) one could question their general mental/emotional fitness to carry out their duties under such stressful conditions. That too, they do it carrying firearms. Without their mental fitness, they become walking "Lethal Weapons" ready to snap at anything deemed a provocation- and I guarantee you, many stressed individuals see "ghosts"!!

So now, I'm trying to imagine what "tensed" cops might have done in various situations:-

Act 1, Scene I
Upon seeing Ibrahim Ali beating a traffic light in the name of "Ketuanan Melayu",
on the way to make a "polis repot":

"Salam Datuk- Apa khabar hari ni?
Tolong keluar sikit .... aah, bagus.
Saya ni, agak "tension" sikit ni ...
Saya nak belasah Datuk sikit ya - rawatan- saya belanja, Datuk!
- lepas ni jangan nak buat "polis repot", ya ..."

*************************

Act 1, Scene II.
Upon stopping a woman for a traffic offence:
"Hello, Maam- tengok IC dengan lesen...
Lesen/ IC semua ok - tapi ada rekod saman ekor, ya.
Saya tengah 'tension', ni .. tapi kita boleh selesai ya
Selak kain sikit ....
Lepas ni, jangan repot ya ...."

**************************************

Act 1 Scene III
Upon seeing a kid not using the pedestrian crossing:
"Hoi, budak - mai sini!!
Apahal dgn kau ni- bodoh benar ke?
You tak tahu ke saya "tension" tengok you buat camtu?
Hah- mai bukak seluar .... I nak lepas "tension" sekarang!!
Doktor kat Hospital tu pandai tengok kes-kes camni ..
Pastu, jgn melepas & simpan tiga hari sebelum buat "polis repot" ya ..."

***********************************

Act 1 Scene IV
Upon seeing some kids on a joyride, tell his partener in the patrol car:
"Cis- budak2 nih .... kurang ajar betul.
Tengah malam2 buta camni pun nak bawak kereta-
orang nak tidur pun tak boleh!! Tension betuuul!!!

Jom kita pi terajang ...
kalau tak lepas tension, pistol ade ,,,, kite lepas ajelah ...
Lepas tu mana dia nak buat "polis repot"-
kite cakap ajelah kat Utusan Meloya, dia tu penyangak!!
Ha ha ha ha!!"

***************************************

Act 1, Scene V
Upon seeing his boss who's promoting him for a job "well done":
"Tabik, Tuan!
Tuan- Saya tiga hari berturut-turut pergi operasi, Tuan.
Balik rumah, penat. Pagi, kerja lagi.
Balik rumah, isteri merajuk entah kenapa- "tak bagi".
Tuan mintak habuan RM500- tak cukup 'selesai' tadi.
Cuti, Tuan tak 'approve',
MC pun doktor tak bagi tadi, sebab tak sakit-
Tengah "tension" nih, Tuan .....
Boleh saya terajang Tuan?"

****************************************

Act 1, Scene VI
(The man is now a henchman of an ADC to a VVVIP .... sent to paying a visit to a relative of Genghiz Han who was disturbing a crony middleman, whom she "serviced" once)
'Hi, Darling - you're so pretty & sexy today.
My boss has instructed me to advice you "accordingly", okay- and I'm "tensed".
To make it easier for both of us, also so that I can release my "tension"- I'll help you to disappear okay.
Now all I'm gonna do is- give you a taste cake- the C4 cake ...
Sorry- You can't make a "polis repot" later.

***************************************

Act 1 Scene VII
Man is now a "top-dog"- sent to 'visit' a VIP in prison:
"How dare you call me 'anjing'- the anjing only carries mattresses, okay!!
Fuyoh- you make me so "tensed" la ... now I'm gonna teach you a lesson!!"
(After pulping the VIP ... and releasing "tension")
"There now ... aren't we all feeling better now - you look as cute as a puppy
with the raccoon eye, and I'm not "tensed" anymore!!

PS
**Sorry for letting my imagination going wild ... I was just having fun, okay.

Indians and Chinese support Ketuanan Melayu

"Umno screams about respecting the law and the Federal Constitution of Malaysia. But those who scream about respecting the law and the Federal Constitution of Malaysia do not even know what it says.
Again, I can only say, bodoh punya orang Umno!"
~RPK

In the 2008 general election, Umno garnered only 29.33% of the popular votes or 2,381,725 votes. It won only 79 seats or 35.6% of the seats in Parliament. Without the Indians, Chinese and other parties from Sabah and Sarawak, Umno would not be heading the government.

Umno, on its own, can’t uphold or propagate Ketuanan Melayu. It needs the support of the non-Malays to do that. So it is the non-Malays who make Ketuanan Melayu possible. The figures speak for themselves. And now PPP too has spoken. Are we now going to hear from MCA, MIC, Gerakan and all those parties from Sabah and Sarawak as well?

I suppose they need not say anything. The fact that they are in Barisan Nasional, and Umno is the lead partner in Barisan Nasional, and Umno upholds and propagates Ketuanan Melayu, means that the non-Malays also support Ketuanan Melayu. They don’t have to make statements saying they support Ketuanan Melayu. The fact that they remain silent and remain in Barisan Nasional is an indication of their support for Ketuanan Melayu.

And the non-Malays scream and curse Umno. How stupid when it is the non-Malays who make Ketuanan Melayu possible. Bodoh!

Umno screams about respecting the law and the Federal Constitution of Malaysia. But those who scream about respecting the law and the Federal Constitution of Malaysia do not even know what it says.

Again, I can only say, bodoh punya orang Umno!

~RPK, Indians and Chinese support Ketuanan Melayu

**************************************************

Note:-
He's very right about what he says here- Without the non-Malay greedy racists in BN, Umno is nothing.
It is therefore, the shameless Chinese, Indian, and Sabah/Sarawak parties who actually prop-up the ideology of "Ketuanan Melayu"!!
He should've said "'pandai' punya Melayu Umno, BODOH punya bukan-Melayu BN"

Anwar defends rejection of ‘Malay supremacy’ - The Malaysian Insider

Anwar defends rejection of ‘Malay supremacy’

December 01, 2010

Anwar: I hope that if they want to politicise this issue, whether Umno or Utusan Malaysia, it is their prerogative but I hope they would not cheat or twist the truth to make it seem as if we are less Malay just because we reject the concept.
KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 1 – Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim defended his rejection of “Malay supremacy” today, explaining its highly-criticised terminology propagates the concept of “master and slave” in society.

The PKR de facto leader slammed criticisms by certain individuals made against his party’s rejection of the concept, arguing that they had “twisted” it to mean that they had disrespected the Federal Constitution.

Anwar also censured the leaders for being overly inaccurate and harsh in their statements made against PKR leaders.

“I hope that if they want to politicise this issue, whether Umno or Utusan Malaysia, it is their prerogative but I hope they would not cheat or twist the truth to make it seem as if we are less Malay just because we reject the concept.

“I think their statements are inaccurate and overly harsh,” he told a press conference in Parliament this afternoon.

Anwar was likely referring to the insult flung at his wife Datin Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail on Tuesday, by Perkasa Youth chief Arman Azha Abu Hanifah, who had called the PKR president a “political prostitute” for rejecting “Malay supremacy”.

In his statement, Arman had also likened Dr Wan Azizah’s remarks to an attack on the constitutional position of the Malays.

“On the statement by the party president, which is not new, we have explained earlier in the PKR congress and the Malaysian economic agenda about how we reject the New Economic Policy because it protects only a segment of society and the poor Malays, Chinese and Indians are still sidelined.

“So if we look at the meaning of ‘tuan’ in ‘ketuanan Melayu’ (Malay supremacy), ‘tuan’ means a person in power, a person who owns, a person in top priority, so if ‘Melayu’ is ‘tuan’, then what about the positions of the other races; the Ibans, Chinese, Indians?,” he said.

He further explained that ‘tuan’ was a direct reference to the positions of the Malay Rulers, pointing out to how they were given titles like “Yang Dipertuan” or “Yamtuan” to indicate their positions of power.

The antonym to the word “tuan”, added Anwar, was “hamba” or slave.

“So when you say ‘ketuanan’ for the Malays, my question is this — what about the other races?” he asked.

STOP THE SYABAS BAILOUT BY THE FED. GOVT!!
